The 7th edition of our tournament take place from 21st to 25th of February 2024.
The tournament is played in 2 groups. The Title Group with rating above 1900 and ELO group with a rating below 2200.
COLOURS FOR 1ST ROUND WILL BE DRAWN BY THE COMPUTER AS PART OF THE PAIRINGS.

and where his seconds were hosted during the matches and has become an important place in the modern Norwegian Chess history!
Groups
Title Swiss Group: 9-round Swiss open for all players with a FIDE-rating of at least 1900 with possibility for title norms.
Having had the required rating on the official FIDE-list at the time of registering for the tournament will be sufficient, even if the player’s rating drops below on the last list before the tournament.
Elo Swiss Group: 9-round open for players with rating below 2200.
Liveboards
The tournament will have up to 80 boards live, 50 in the Title group and 30 in the ELO group.

Rate of play
90 minutes plus 30 seconds increment from move 1.
Tie Breaks & Prizes
Tie-breaks among players achieving the same number of points will be decided in this order:
1. The total scores in the tournament of each of 7 opponents, except the one with the highest and lowest number of points
2. The total scores of each of 8 opponents, except the one with the lowest number of points
3. The total scores of all 9 opponents.
4. The average rating of all the opponents.
5. Sonneborn-Berger, adding the scores of every opponent the player has beaten and half of the score of every opponent the player has drawn.

Rating prizes in each of the following rating groups: 1600-1799 (class 2) 1400-1599 (class 3) 1200-1399 (class 4) 0-1199 (class 5)
winners of class: 2, 3, 4 and 5 are guaranteed a prize of NOK 1000 each in addition there will be bookprizes for 1/3rd of the rating groups.
Prizes are shared equally within the numbers of prizes in case of equal points.
